Looking for romance novels for young adults from the 90's?
It was a series of books, which all had different authors / characters around the same time as the 90's Sweet Valley High books and ledgers of LJ Smith (Secret Circle, Vampire Diaries). I do not remember as pieces of some of the books, but if you can remember a series of young adult novels of 1990-1996, perhaps it will spark something in my own memory! Thank you all. I still do not know how to use it, but yes! Stories of love it was! Thank you so much. Would this name have been more obvious? " Thank you for completing my brain:)
The love stories Series (Elizabeth Chandler is my favorite from this contributor) series =) Example: http://www.amazon.com/At-First-Sight-Love-Stories/dp/0553492543/ref=pd_sim_b_1 there was another series called Sweet Dreams, which began early 1980 and lasted until the series Stories of Love in 1995. They come from the same publisher. Example: Check http://www.amazon.com/Follow-Your-Heart-Sweet-Dreams/dp/0553566873/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1244163053&sr=1-1 out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweet_Dreams_ (book_series) I really liked the work of LJ Smith back in the day, especially The Forbidden Game Trilogy.

AMOS AND THE VAMPIRE $3.8 Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Gary Paulsen is one of America’s most popular writers for young people. Although he was never a dedicated student, Paulsen developed a passion for reading at an early age. After a librarian gave him a book to read–along with his own library card–he was hooked. He began spending hours alone in the basement of his apartment building, reading one book after another.brbrbrRunning away from home at the age of 14 and traveling with a carnival, Gary Paulsen acquired a taste for adventure. A youthful summer of rigorous chores on a farm; jobs as an engineer, construction worker, ranch hand, truck driver, and sailor; and two rounds of the 1,180-mile Alaskan dogsled race, the Iditarod, have provided ample material from which he creates powerful stories.brbrbrPaulsen’s realization that he would ultimately be a writer happened suddenly when he was working as a satellite technician for an aerospace firm in California. One night he walked off the job, never to return. He spent the next year in Hollywood as a magazine proofreader, working on his own writing every night. Then he left California and drove to northern Minnesota where he rented a cabin by the lake; by the end of the winter, he had completed his first novel.brbrbrIt is Gary Paulsen’s overwhelming belief in young people that drives him to write. His intense desire to tap deeply into the human spirit and to encourage readers to observe and care about the world around them has brought him both enormous popularity with young people and critical acclaim from the children’s book community. Paulsen has written nearly 100 books and some 200 articles and short stories for children and adults. He is one of the most respected writers of young adult literature today. Three of his novels–iHatchet, Dogsong,/iandiThe Winter Room–/iwere named Newbery Honor Books.brbrbrIniSoldier’s Heart,/i15-year-old Charley Goddard enlists in the First Minnesot@fffffgÿ¾Úð |

The Vampire Countess $25.79 In vita mors, in morte vita! In life, death; in death, life! The particular gift of Countess Addhema was to be reborn beautiful and young every time she could apply to the hideous bareness of her skull a living head of hair, a scalp, torn from the head of a living victim. This was why her tomb was full of the skulls of young women… Ren? recoiled in horror at the sight of his mistress restored to her real condition: the cadaver of an old woman, fleshless, cold, totally bald and already turning to dust… After 1856, it would be a long time before any other writer contrived a vampire as perversely charismatic as Addhema; she is really three vampires in one. She is, first and foremost, the vampire-as-libido-run-wild, but she is certainly the vampire-as-gold-digger too, and she may well have something of the vampire-as-muse to complete her mystique.-Brian Stableford. Paul F?val (1816-1887) was the author of numerous popular swashbuckling novels and one of the fathers of the modern crime thriller. Brian Stableford has published more than fifty novels and two hundred short stories. The Vampire Countess was written in 1855-forty years before Bram Stoker’s Dracula-and is one of three classic vampire stories also available from Black Coat Press. |
